OrphanCARE Fundraising Dinner
In conjunction with the first anniversary of Malaysia’s 1st baby hatch, OrphanCARE will be organising a fundraising dinner to be held as follows:

Place: Grand Ballroom Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
The baby hatch was launched on 29th of May, 2010 by Her Royal Highness The Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom. It is meant to serve as a ‘life line’ to unwanted babies born by unwed young mothers who, in a state of desperation and hopelessness, may otherwise have resorted to abandoning them.
Working closely with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, OrphanCARE has successfully placed 30 babies with loving families. Each year there are approximately 100 cases of reported baby abandonment, half of whom are found dead and there are possibly many more unreported cases. The 30 babies entrusted to us could have been part of these sorry statistics, and if so, OrphanCARE would have reached out to around 20% of these cases. Help us in this mission to save these innocent young lives & stop baby abandonment in our country!
“Every child needs a family” is the underlying principle at OrphanCARE. Our aim is to give every child the opportunity to be cared and loved by families that will support and nurture them. In keeping with this, OrphanCARE also aims to help change society’s mindset towards orphans, recognizing that children should not be left permanently in orphanages.
There are over 600 couples registered with OrphanCARE waiting to adopt. Over 100 have been screened by us and approved by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat as eligible adoptive parents.
OrphanCARE has also successfully placed 7 orphans (aged 3-12) from a JKM orphanage with loving families. As we continue screening over 500 couples, they eagerly await the child they so long for. Please help us in our mission to place orphans with loving families as an orphanage can never replace a proper home.
As a non-profit, non-governmental organization, our efforts are sustained by generosity from corporate and individuals, such as yourself. All of our activities are being run by members and volunteers. Funds raised go towards the maintenance of our current baby hatch at OrphanCARE’s premises, setting up of future baby hatches to extend this hope to other unwanted babies nationwide, road shows aimed at educating the general public on baby abandonment and plight of orphans, as well as our general operations and administration.
As we continue to strive in our efforts, we are reminded of the sudden passing of OrphanCARE’s founder and driving force, Dato’ Adnan in February 2011. Though his loss is greatly felt, we continue his vision with humility, and honour him with this dinner. May we continue his noble legacy and do right by the children we aim to serve.
